A day in the life of a nurse in Somalia

I produced a documentary project for Save the Children in Puntland, Somalia. The stories document daily life on a hospital ward for children with severe acute malnutrition (S.A.M). Cases are on the rise due to year after year of drought, caused by climate change. Global food prices rising is making the situation even more difficult for families.

I worked alongside Mustafa Saeed, a photographer from Somaliland, to document the stories of Fadumo, the lead health care worker on the ward, and the children being treated.

Astur*, 24, with her children, Tahiil*, one, and Mursal*, two months, who are being treated by health workers in the hospital (names changed for safeguarding reasons). [cc: Mustafa Saeed, Save the Children]
